Rafuchakkar director Ritam Srivastav is all praise for Maniesh Paul!
#ManieshPaul is inundated with praises from his director #RitamSrivastav for not just attempting an experimental and unique role but acing five different avatars in it, especially given it’s his debut #OTT show.
Maniesh Paul, who had established himself as a man of many talents over the years, is all set to reveal a completely unseen aspect of his versatility in his digital debut show Rafuchakkar. The actor has pushed his boundaries to play an intense role of a con-artist, featuring five different identities in the show, wherein each one required distinctive traits.
From playing a middle aged pot-bellied man to a body builder, Maniesh’s physicality witnesses a huge range; for which the actor underwent phenomenal transformation including gaining and losing weight as well as prosthetics. While the physical traits were accomplished with discipline, Maniesh impressed his director the most with his versatility to play each avatar differently, putting forth his acting skills at display.
Ritam Srivastav shares, “Ideally I did feel it was a challenge as the audience loves his him for his hosting and his comic timing, I was robbing them off both of it. However, Maniesh is extremely talented and immensely hardworking. He had been shooting for Jugjugg Jeeyo and would simultaneously put in hours to prep for Rafuchakkar, from hitting the gym to look tests, prosthetic tests, etc. Maniesh had reinvented himself to portray a totally surprising side of himself. Every character he played within the lines of a con-artist, he is unrecognisable and completely distinct in each one. I feel fortunate to be the medium to showcase his real potential to the world.”
Recently the trailer of Rafuchakkar released revealing the world of deceit and lies led and run by Maniesh Paul.
Directed by Ritam Srivastav, Rafuchakkar stars Maniesh Paul in the leading role alongwith Priya Bapat and others and is slated to begin streaming on Jio Cinema from 15th June 2023.
