Rajit Dev declares, ‘Lots of lights, music and sweets, this is my usual Diwali, Covid, no Covid’
Rajit Dev is a busy guy. From directing “Pachtaoge” female version, to choreographing “Tehas nehas” for Ishaan Khatter and Ananya Panday, and then a commercial for Ranveer Singh, work has kept him occupied. So while the entire country is worrying about celebrating a low-key Diwali this year, the ace choreographer says the festival has always been about lights, music and sweets for him.
However, he did mention that he would only meet a couple of friends whom he has been in regular touch with recently. “I never believed in having a grand celebration for any festival. I honestly believe that God looks at your dedication and devotion and not the glitz and grandeur with which you celebrate a festival. Lots of lights, music and sweets, this is my usual Diwali, and Covid, no Covid, it will be the same,” Rajit said.
“I have decorated my house with lights, I will do puja on the day of Diwali, have lots of sweets and dance. I will meet just a couple of my friends I have been in touch with recently. And the others I will be wishing on video calls or normal calls. I have bought some beautiful plants that I am going to gift them. And that will be it, it’s always been like that, so I was not stressing over how I will celebrate Diwali,” he added.
But what about crackers? “I won’t lie, I used to burn crackers as a kid, but when I realised how it harms the environment, I have not burnt a single cracker since then. It’s been around 10-12 years now. And I am happy that I am contributing something for a healthy environment,” Rajit said.
