Ram Navami, which marks Lord Ram’s birth and coincides with spring’s onset, is celebrated every year with great fervour across the nation. Wishing everyone a Happy Ram Navami are various &TV artists. These include KatoriAmma (Himani Shivpuri) and Rajesh (Kamna Pathak) of ‘Happu Ki Ultan Paltan’, Manmohan Tiwari (Rohitashv Gour) of ‘Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai’, Santoshi Maa (Gracy Singh) of ‘Santoshi Maa Sunaye VratKathayein’ and Zafar Ali Mirza (Pawan Singh), Ramesh Prasad Mishra (Ambrish Bobby) and Sakina Mirza (Akansha Shamra) of ‘Aur Bhai Kya Chal Raha Hai?’.
Himani Shivpuri, aka Katori Amma, shares, “Ram Navami, the birth of Maryada Purushottam Ram is considered a very auspicious day of the Hindu calendar. Every year, I partake in the rituals of offering prayers and prasad to Lord Rama for good health and prosperity. Normally, I would invite underprivileged children home for Kala chana, halwa and puri. But looking at the current situation, I have decided to pack the food and send it to them. I wish everyone good health and best wishes for Ram Navami!” Rohitashv Gour aka Manmohan Tiwari shares, “Ram Navami ki dher saari shubkamnaye! Our celebrations begin with bathing the idols of Lord Rama and placing them in a cradle. We offer kheer and almonds as a way of gratitude. Apart from the usual rituals, we will also be reading the verses of Ramayana to mark Lord Ram’s birth. On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, I wish everyone’s heart and home be filled with happiness, peace and prosperity.”
Gracy Singh, aka Santoshi Maa, shares, “On Ram Navami, I start my day by offering water to Suryadev. It is followed by the chant the Ram Vrat Katha for the deity’s blessings. Since it is also the last day of Navratri, I prepare Khada prasad is prepared which is then distributed to those around me for good wishes.” Akansha Sharma, aka Sakina Mirza, shares, “The onset of spring is a wonderful time and marks the beginning of a new season. This Ram Navami, I wish everyone a year full of new opportunities and divine blessings. I will be celebrating this day by fasting and reading Ram Katha and Puranas. It would be followed by an aarti in the evening and saativik food to break my fast.” Sharing childhood memories of celebrating Ram Navami, Kamna Pathak aka Dabang Rajesh shares. “As a child, I was enthusiastic about being a part of the havan my mother would conduct at home. I would wake up early morning and bring flowers to decorate the house. I still remember the fresh flowers’ fragrance; everyone would say, ‘Tanu has done a wonderful job!’ I miss being at home during such festivities and hope everyone celebrates this joyous day with their family.”
Pawan Singh, aka Zafar Ali Mirza, shares, “In school on the day of Ram Navami, we would have an enactment of Ramleela on stage. The whole school would roar when Ravan was defeated. It represented the win of good over evil, learning for a lifetime. This Ram Navami, I remember Lord Rama and his teachings and seek his blessings for my family and me.” Ambrish Bobby aka Ramesh Prasad Mishra shares, “Ram Navami ki hardik shubkamnaye! This day brings back childhood memories when my three sisters and I would run around the house and keep asking maa for unke haath ke bane mithai. She would first offer them to the idols in the mandir and then give us one each. I still remember this one time I took a bite of the mithaiwhich was in the mandir, and I had to sit in one place until I finished reading the entire Ram Katha.”
