Review: Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass – Educative yet Entertaining!
In recent years, the importance of education, particularly in semi-urban and rural regions, has gained much-needed attention. However, educating girls remains a challenge in the more remote parts of the country, where societal norms often prioritize marriage over education. Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass, a newly released film, sheds light on this pertinent issue, capturing the essence of why educating girls is essential despite societal opposition.
Set in a small village near Banaras, the story revolves around Geeta (played by Kashika Kapoor), whose dream is to pass her matriculation (10th grade) exams. Her father, Vidyadhar (Atul Srivastava), is her strongest supporter, fully backing her pursuit of education. However, when Geeta fails her exams, the rest of the family decides it’s time to marry her off. Despite the pressure, Geeta longs to clear the exam before getting married, but she is ridiculed by the conservative society around her. Fortunately, her love interest, Kundan (Anuj Saini), stands by her, defying the pressures from their families. The unfolding events form the heart of the story.
While the film’s subject matter isn’t groundbreaking, the engaging screenplay—especially in the latter half—keeps the audience invested. Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass may lack a big budget or established stars, but it still manages to hold its own. Though the love story lacks depth initially, the maturity displayed by the couple later on wins over the audience. Debutant director Pradeep Khairwar has done a commendable job, skillfully weaving humor into the narrative to balance the seriousness of the issue. However, he tries to tackle too many social issues in one script, which slightly dilutes the impact.
Kashika Kapoor impresses in her debut role, bringing Geeta’s character to life with remarkable confidence. Anuj Saini, while decent, still has room to grow in terms of his acting skills—good looks alone won’t carry him far. The real standout is Atul Srivastava, whose heartfelt performance is the emotional anchor of the film. He is well complemented by Alka Amin, adding further strength to the cast.
Overall, Ayushmati Geeta Matric Pass is an educative yet entertaining watch that strikes a balance between social messaging and light-hearted moments.
