Review : Bade Miyan Chote Miyan offers high octane action with funny one liners!
#AmitabhBachchan and #Govinda featured in double roles in #BadeMiyanChoteMiyan which relied mainly on comedic situations. The new Bade Miyan Chote Miyan features #AkshayKumar and #TigerShroff mainly relies on action drama. In the first one Amitabh-Govinda camaraderie was excellent and double roles of diverse characters made the film interesting. In the new Bade Miyan Chote Moyan Akshay-Tiger camaraderie is excellent and viewers will get to see a fresh pairing on screen. Their comedic give and take is excellent, especially the one-liners, between the two.
Feroz aka Freddy (Akshay Kumar) and Rakesh aka Rocky (Tiger Shroff) are Indian army’s best soldiers/commandos who complete a mission successfully and the unit start calling them Bade Miyan (Freddy) Chote Miyan (Rocky). For not following the superior’s, Colonel Adil Shekhar Azad’s, (Ronit Bose Roy) instructions they are court marshalled and they start living commoner’s lives. Enter Captain Misha (Manushi Chhillar) who brings them out of the hibernation and involves them in a new military mission. With high speeding vehicles and exploding machine guns they complete the mission. For Indian military NRI Kabir (Prithviraj Sukumaran), with the help of AI, invents cloned soldiers but military superiors do not approve the project. Kabir feels insulted and decides to take revenge on India by supplying cloned soldiers to its enemy countries viz Pakistan and China. Freddy, Rocky, Misha along with an IT specialist Pam (Alaya F) venture out to stop Kabir. What ensue later forms the crux of the film’s narration.
Director Ali Abbas Zafar has written the script which is a typical Masala Bollywood film script where heroism is glorified. The screenplay is quite pacy and the movie loaded with an overdose of action. The action choreography is excellent and both Akshay and Tiger justify it. The script is laced with witty one-liners and both the protagonists collect laughters with straight faced delivery. Alaya Fi’s dialogue delivery is excellent and she shines with her one-liners like she tells Tiger ‘Biceps ki jagah Brain istamal karo’ or she refers Akshay as ‘Uncle’ etc. The production values are high and the cinematography is excellent. The beautiful locations around London, Scotland, Luton, Abu Dhabi, Jordan and of course India are eye pleasing. The music is good as well as the background score, though at times it is a bit loud. Akshay Kumar looks good, fights well and delivers his one liners effectively collecting laughters. Tiger Shroff too excels in stunts and his one liners too land very well creating chortles. Manushi Chhillar looks beautiful and has performed her stunts like a pro. Alaya F nails the nerdy character and scores browny points with her one liners. Sonakshi Sinha has an extended guest appearance and she does her job skilfully besides looking gorgeous on screen. Others lend good support.
Bade Miyan Chote Miyan offers high octane action with fun filled moments too.
