Review : Creation Of The Gods : Showcasing the eastern culture with fantasy and adventure!

Creation Of The Gods marks the beginning of a planned trilogy and is among several recent extravagant adventures loosely based on the 16th-century mythological epic, “#TheInvestitureoftheGods.”

As King Zhou (Kris Phillips) readies his forces to launch an assault on Jizhou, his loyal guard Ji Fa (Yosh Yu) stands by his side. Their mission is to annihilate Su Hu (Ashton Xu), a traitor to the throne. Zhou’s campaign succeeds, obliterating Su Hu’s entire lineage, save for his daughter, Su Daji (Naran). But Su Daji harbours a dark secret. She is a demon fox who beguiles King Zhou with her sorcery, eventually becoming his concubine and closest advisor. Upon returning home, Zhou is met with a family tragedy. His brother commits patricide, only to be unintentionally slain by Ji Fa in the aftermath. During Zhou’s ascension ceremony, a mysterious curse upon him is exposed. Meanwhile, in the celestial realm of Kunlun, the Gods convene to discuss the fate of the sacred scroll, which holds the power to restore balance. Jiang Ziya (Huang Bo), one of the three immortal beings, opts to surrender his divine abilities and deliver the scroll to Zhou. However, on the brink of completing his mission, Jiang Ziya uncovers the prince’s true nature, and everything changes.

This captivating film immerses you in the realm of ancient Chinese mythology, where gods, demons, and humans clash in a battle for their fate. The movie showcases a remarkable imagination and creates a vast, grandiose world. Rooted in ancient Chinese mythology, the narrative is rich with various elements. Although the special effects exhibit some imperfections and the battle scenes between deities and immortals are somewhat limited, the story remains compelling.

If you’re a fan of fantasy, adventure, and Eastern culture, Creation of the Gods I: Kingdom of Storms is a must-see.
