Review : Pyar Ke Do Naam : Social message wrapped in a love story!
For donkey’s years #LoveorPyar has been the core emotion pursued in our films. Yet each film is different from one another. Writer, director #DanishJaved too explores this genre and presents couple of love stories from the modern times in his latest offering #PyarKeDoNaam. He skillfully coalesces social messages through the love stories. The thought process of NRIs against Indians as well as regular Hindu-Muslim love affair is blended smartly to have an impact in storytelling. Kaira (Ankita Sahu) is a young Muslim girl who is a staunch Gandhi Bhakt and always gets invited for lectures on Gandism. Aryan (Bhavya Sachdeva) is a South African resident who gets invited to give lecture on South Africa’s freedom fighter and ex-President Nelson Mandela. Kaira and Aryan, while reaching to the same destination where they are invited to present a speeches on their favourite subjects, i. e. Gandhi and Mandela, accidently bump into each other. College students Saima (Kanika Gautam) and Kabir (Achal Takwal) are assigned by the college to look after these distinguished guests. They too are fond of each other and want to take the relationship forward. Aryan believes mainly in togetherness and starts wooing Kaira who actually believes in permenant commitment. They do start loving each other but Kaira finds a dark secret about Aryan and distances herself from him. What transpires around it forms the crux of the story.
The story may not have novelty but the Gandhi-Mandela plot adds to the depth of the screenplay. The Hindu Muslim love affair depicts the real face of the society. Also the thinking of a person brought up in a westernized country as against the mentality of local person is well etched out. The technical sides are good and the music helps the narration. Ankita Sahu looks beautiful and has delivered an outstanding performance. She portrays variety of emotions with ease. Bhavya Sachdeva has a good screen presence and scores while playing double layered chatacter. Kanika Gautam wins hearts with her bubbly performance and gets noticed despite limited screen time. Achal Takwal is good too.
Pyar Ke Do Naam is a love story with a couple of social messages.
