Review : ‘Uncharted’ is a fast-paced, globe-trotting, high-octane action flick!
The western film makers are obsessed with treasure hunt movies where their principle characters explore the uncharted paths to discover it. Director #RubenFleischer has used a similar plot in his latest movie Uncharted. This treasure hunt roller coaster is based on a popular gaming franchise’s hero #NathanDrake (#TomHollland) and Victor ‘#Sully’ #Sullivan (#MarkWahlberg). Both embark on a globe trotting adventurous treasure hunt to find the gold. Obviously they meet many obstacles, including other people running after the same treasure, but continue relentlessly.
Sam and Nathan are separated and the plot resumes with a young Nathan working as a bartender and a petty thief who picks on wealthy clients visiting his bar. In comes Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan who promises Nathan to help find Sam, who has been missing for years and forms a team to track the treasure hidden by the Magellan crew. They steal a golden cross at an auction which is to be used as one of the keys to find the treasure. Nefarious Santiago Moncada (Antonio Bangera’s) too is after the same treasure who has hired menacing mercenary Jo Braddock (Tati Gabrielle) to help diminish the competition. The duo of Nathan and Sully reach Barcelona to meet Chloe Frazer (Sonia Ali) who has another golden cross. Both the cross are important as they are to be used together to open the treasure box. The three of them venture out on the treasure hunt and meet with a partial success. In the process the true colours of personalities come to the fore and betrayal too. How Nathan and Victor go about the adventurous treasure hunt is a fascinate watch on big screen.
After the success of Spider Man : No Way Home, Tom Holland, is back with another adventure film, Uncharted. The opening scene of mid-air fight increases viewers’ curiosity. The script is quite closely knit and doesn’t give a chance to deviate viewers’ mind from the happenings. The action scene are aplenty which are entertaining. The dialogues are humour laced which keeps the atmosphere light. The high octane action scenes are beautifully captured and full marks to the cinematographer. The flying fight scenes are more enjoyable, though far away from the logic, and the middle of air and sea, pirate ship chase sequences, too are brilliantly captured. The CGI certainly is of high quality and it’s a treat for action lovers. Tom Holland’s combination of innocence and action is superb and Mark Wahlberg too is good. Both of them make a good team and their subtle wisecracks are enjoyable. Other actors lend good support.
Uncharted is a fast-paced, globe-trotting, high-octane action flick which definitely is a one time watch.
