Rohit Shetty backs BMC’s Be A Tree Parent MEGA Vriksha Campaign!
Filmmaker #RohitShetty and actress #NiharicaRaizada joined BMC’s #BeATreeParent #MEGAVrikshaCampaign with the planting of a Sita Ashoka tree at JVPD, Juhu. The plantation was done at the hands of Rohit Shetty, Niharica Raizada, Local Councillor Sudha Singh, Asst. Commissioner MCGM K-West Ward Vishvas Mote, Dr. Anusha Srinivasan Iyer of Make Earth Green Again MEGA Foundation and Shaan Lalwani of Vriksha Nursery along with the Municipal Staff of K-West Ward.
Rohit Shetty and Niharica Raizada joined the likes of Hema Malini, Ranvir Shorey and son Haroon Shorey, Dino Morea, Anil Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Abhishek Bachchan, Bappi Lahiri, Bappa B Lahiri, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, Poonam Sinha, Ajay Devgn and son Yug Ajay Devgn, Sonu Nigam, Dr Mickey Mehta, Nikita Rawal, Rupali Suri, Saher Bhamla, Vatsal Sheth, Amit Behl, Ayesha Jhulka, Dr. Aneel Kashi Murarka, Saniya Saiyad, Ashnoor Kaur, Advait Mote and MLA Shri Ameet Satam who are all proud tree parents!
Said Rohit Shetty, “it is time to come together and face the pandemic. It is important in such stressful times to plant trees for Oxygen and to safeguard our lives as well as get vaccinated,” Shetty asked each person who is a Khatron ka Khiladi in such times to stay safe and stay healthy.
Added Niharica Raizada, “It is on the youth to take care of the environment and invest in Oxygen spaces for future generations.”
Anusha Srinivasan Iyer of Make Earth Green Again Mega Foundation expressed, “When an action man like Rohit Shetty gets into action to plant trees, we can be sure it is the mega way to Make Earth Green Again.”
World Environment Day 2021 marked the start of BMC’s ‘Be A Tree Parent’ MEGA Vriksha Campaign. Instituted by the K West Ward Asst Commissioner Mr. Vishvas Mote, along with Dr. Anusha Srinivasan Iyer of Make Earth Green Again MEGA Foundation and Shaan Lalwani from Vriksha Nursery, the campaign involves and encourages societies and residents to adopt tree pits from the 348 Mumbai locations where trees had fallen in the K West Ward, post Cyclone Tauktae, and replant identified, fast-growing native tree species in those locations.
