Saanand Verma feels that the quality of information is more important than quantity!
#BhabijiGharParHain actor #SaanandVerma has suggested youngsters to follow a weekly digital detox exercise. “The youth should do a weekly digital detox exercise where there is no digital gadget or activity with regards with digital exposure and social media. Nothing should be used which is digital. Just do something which is not digital at all,” he said.
He suggested them to play cricket or football, meet up with friends, learn a new skill, read a good book which interests them. “Anything that helps in developing your personality without being slaves of digital world. Anything that gives you pleasure and leads you to learn newer things which is not dependent on internet or social media. We have a culture of doing weekly fast, so weekly digital detox is very important,” he said.
Asked if too much information is sometimes dangerous, he said, “It is the quality of information which is more important than quantity. You can read too many great books, so you end up gaining a lot of information. It depends on what kind of information you are getting.”
“Always try to search for quality information. Social media is such a thing where it is flooded with fake information, characterised by money-making intentions. We should always try not to encourage that type of information,” he added.
The youth is often seen as the hope of our future. “They are the hope. It all depends on what kind of skill development programme we are creating and promoting and what kind of empowerment we are providing to the youth. We need to focus on skill development programmes and make our youth powerful and skillful for a bright future,” he said.
He feels that the youth can bring about social changes. “The youth needs to be politically correct because politics is the key to any nation success. Good thoughts lead to the development of nation. A youngster who is sincere, honest and not corrupt should definitely get into politics and bring about the social change,” he said.
According to him, social change is difficult without getting into politics. “Any social change can be brought about when you are in control of law making. I fully encourage and admire those youngsters who are honestly willing to bring about the social change and get into pure and good politics. If someone just wants to gain power and intentions are not right and lead a luxury life, then that kind of corrupt youth is absolutely a no-no,” he said.
H feels that advancement in technology has made youngsters lazy as they are just sitting and using mobile phones and laptops. “Just going to the gym for half and hour doesn’t mean that you have done everything for your body. Youth should also spend time outdoors. They should be less dependent on gadgets and social media. The youth should exchange good vibes and create great energy around them,” he said.
His advice to them is to “gain knowledge from life experience and not from Google.”
