Sagar Parekh was a curious kid who wanted to find out more about anything that interested him!
As a kid, #SagarParekh was mostly well behaved but at times he did require some insightful supervision. The #TeraYaarHoonMain actor goes down memory lane and talks about how life was while growing up.
“I was very resourceful as a kid and could always access items which were supposedly hidden away or placed out of reach for my own safety. I was also curious and wanted to find out more about anything that interested me on the streets or in the garden. And, for the longest time I wanted to become a doctor,” says the actor, known for TV shows such as Internet Wala Love, Rajaa Betaa, Meri Gudiya.
Describing his parents being loving and supportive, he adds, “They have always been friendly. We are quite open to each other about most things. Since my childhood I never had that fear of getting scolded, rather I was worried about making mistakes. My parents gave me the perfect upbringing. I’m blessed to have such parents in my life. Their upbringing has helped me a lot to grow in life. My parents were and still are really kind and understanding.”
While growing up, Sagar’s favourite sport was badminton. He also loved riding bicycles along with his friends. The actor was a average student and used to score between 65% and 70%.
“We friends used to just hang around in the garden and find many lost and found items. We used to create something out of all the discarded stuff and also experiment,” he says.
Speaking on his most embarrassing childhood experience, Sagar talks about something that happened during the annual day function when he was in class one. “My grandmother was there in the audience that day. There was this really cute and pretty girl on stage and out of nowhere I just went on to the stage, took that girl’s hand and took the microphone to announce that ‘Daadi I want to get married to this girl’. I didn’t even know what it meant at that time but it was really embarrassing for my grandmother,” he shares.
And what is the craziest thing that he has done to help his classmates? “There was one time when we were in class 6 and had a surprise test. We weren’t prepared at all, so I tried to become the hero and tried to bribe the teacher and I also remember closing the doors of the classroom. I went to the teacher and said, ‘Sir I have 50 rupees in my pocket please accept it and let us cheat’ and in return as expected I got two tight slaps. But after that I became the hero of my class,” he laughs.
The thought of becoming an actor came to Sagar when he was in college, but he seriously started thinking about his future after 12th. “It’s my mother who wanted me to try acting, which was just after 12th boards, and the feelings were mutual for giving acting a try as my career,” he adds.
