Salim Diwan’s life’s philosophy is, “whatever the t ime is, be it good or bad, it will pass one day.”!

Actor #SalimDiwan, who has featured in “#BollywoodDiaries”, feels that people should accept their failures the same way they celebrate their success. Speaking on the occasion of #WorldSuicidePreventionDay, which is observed on September 10, he said that suicide should never be considered as an option.

“Suicide is seen by many as an escape route to all the problems and issues they are facing, but it’s not the way to look at it. Attempting suicide should never be an option. The major reasons for suicides are failure and acceptance. People often fail in many things in life and don’t accept the results which leads them to attempt suicide,” he said.

“If we are not mentally healthy things don’t do that great whether it’s finance or relationship etc. So if their mental health is not in a good state people often take steps that they could avoid. It’s very important to take care of one’s mental health,” he added.

He also asserted that sometimes an emotional setback too makes a person go into a shell. He said, “Everyone has some or the other emotional thoughts and setbacks which makes them what they are. After a certain point of time, they end up not trusting anyone or stop opening up to others.”

However, Salim confessed that he too had suicidal thoughts. Talking about that he said, “When that happened I thought about my family and my friends. I realised what will happen if I give up and then I believed that whether the time is good or bad it will someday pass.”

The “The Perfect Scream” actor also feels that the pandemic has also affected people’s mental health. “The pandemic has adversely affected all of us and made us do jobs which are not in our professions too, like someone who has done a job in an apparels store worked as delivery boy to earn his bread and butter, so the insecurity of job, work business etc has increased but not giving up and trying to improve yourself will always be the best solution for all of us,” he said.

The young actor shared that his philosophy in life is to always remember a simple thing that “whatever the time is, be it good or bad, it will pass one day.”

Lastly, talking about what keeps him motivated personally and professionally, he said, “My motivation comes from myself. I look back at the past and see that I have grown a lot and can do much more in life which will make me more successful than today, and this motivates me professionally and personally too.”
