Sandeep Ravade, art director of ‘Chup’ says, We were very particular on selecting different tools for different murders”!

#SunnyDeol and #DulquerSalmaan starrer #ChupRevengeOfTheArtist, directed by #RBalki garnered love and appreciation from the masses and the critics. The suspense thriller revolves around the story of a serial killer who waits for the film reviews on Friday and then depending on which critic he disagrees with the most he carves his comments on the critic’s body after killing them. The unique set of the film was designed by none other than the production designer, Sandeep Ravade who is mainly known for his work in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Baby and PK.

Speaking about how Sandeep prepared the sets and the challenges he faced, he expressed, “Firstly this concept was very interesting for me because this was my first psychopath thriller film, the brief given to me was- An artistic way to kill people and as we show him a film maker, so I used different tools as utility, we used some gardening tools and some other tools and how our antagonist is going to sharpen that. We also were very particular on selecting different tools for different murders instead of sticking to just one tool. These were very small things in aspect to the film but a lot of detailing and discussion went through because we did not want it to seem like a killer is using a knife and killing people, we wanted it to be unique and I am glad we could achieve it.”

Sandeep has managed to keep most of the sets of the film original and he has tried his best to give the real essence of places depending on the scene and its requirement. Sandeep Ravade clearly knows how to rise above the expectations that come along with every new film.
