Saurabh Kaushik of “Jija Ji Chhat Par Hai” fame says one must learn to tackle the ups and downs faced in their career as it only pushes them to make wise decisions as an actor while zeroing down on a project, an advice given by his father which he follows to the T. Known for popular comedy serials like “Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai” as Pandit and as Bijendra in “Jija Ji Chhat Par Hai”, Saurabh says he is thankful to his producers (Sanjay and Benaiferr Kohli) ,director and writers for giving me such great opportunities. Born in Mathura, UP to theatre artist, Saurabh has been enamored by acting since childhood and would often act on stage in plays directed by his father.
“I started building interest in performing since I was five. I used to perform small scripts at All India Radio, got enrolled for summer workshops in National School of Drama, did workshops, besides studying,” Saurabh, who has an MBA degree, says. At the age of six, Saurabh first faced the camera for a special song on the Holi festival for Delhi Doordarshan. Years later he made his debut as an actor with Sony Entertainment Television’s popular show “Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap”, in which he was seen in a cameo appearance. He recalls the one piece of advice given by his father, was there will be ups and downs and he himself is responsible for it, besides he must remain grounded.
“If anything happens positive that is also because of you and negative is also because of you so you cannot blame anyone else. You have to tackle ups and downs on your own so choose wisely whatever you’re choosing. We’ll always support you,” Saurabh says, while talking about the advice given to him by his father.
