Shamin Mannan is missing that infectious energy of the garba-dandiya dancers this year
The Covid-19 pandemic has put restrictions on celebrating festivals too this year. The festival of Navratri is going on, but without any dandiya and garba events, the celebration seems very dull. “Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki” actress Shamin Mannan says she is missing the lively atmosphere of the festival. The actress who has attended some dandiya and garba events a chief guests says she is missing that infectious energy of the dancers this year. “I have been to garba and dandiya events a couple of times. And have also attended them as chief guest. I was quite disappointed when I heard that they have cancelled such events, but I think it’s for the best, considering the current COVID-19 situation. It’s better to stay safe than be sorry because you don’t know how and when you can contract the virus,” she said.
“I am missing the vibrant ambience of Navratri this year. While playing garba or dandiya, you get so pumped up that you forget the time or place you are in. The energy at such places is so infectious that you are forced to dance all night long,” she added. Shamin is currently seen as Koyal in “Ram Pyaare Sirf Humare”. Asked if her show will have a Navratri special sequence, she said, “Yes, we will be shooting for a special sequence for Navratri soon. Mostly it will be a Maha Episode, I guess.” Her special wish on the eve of Dussehra will be to get back to the normal life as soon as possible.
“I just wish that on Dussehra, God sets us free this virus called Corona, and may humans win over the virus,” Shamin said.
