Shweta Tripathi, known and appreciated for her dramatic performances in Masaan, Haraamkhor and the Amazon Original series Mirzapur, has consistently chosen interesting characters to portray on camera. The latest episode of IMDb Original No Small Parts traces Shweta Tripathi’s rise to fame.
The actress started her career on television with Disney series Kya Mast Hai Life, starring in over 100 episodes as college student Zenia Khan. Later in 2011, Shweta made a brief appearance in feature film Trishna, starring Riz Ahmed and Freida Pinto. During the production of the movie, Tripathi forged some crucial relationships that led to the short film Sujata, and eventually to her breakout role as Shaalu, an upper-class girl who falls for a Varanasi boy in the hit indie-drama Masaan. From that moment on, Shweta Tripathi has taken on many eclectic roles with her work in The Trip, Gone Kesh, Laakhon Main Ek and Made in Heaven.
In a 2019 interview for Filmfare.com, she said, “My goal is to keep my audience guessing and curious about what I’ll be doing next.” After seeing Shweta play varying characters with such ease, we cannot wait to see what challenging roles she takes on next!’
