Small screen’s Sita, Madirakshi Mundle opines on Big screen’s Sita, Kriti Sanon!

Actress #KritiSanon recently faced lot of backlash for exchanging a kiss on the cheek with director Om Raut on the premises of #Tirupatitemple. Kriti is playing Sita in much awaited #Adipurush. We have asked actress #MadirakshiMundle who has played Sita in Siya Ke Ram about her point of view on this controversy. She says, ”Sita is a towering presence in India’s religious and cultural traditions, folk-tales, stories and a part of nearly every household in this country. She is an icon of exemplary grace and dignity in the face of hardship. #Sita is a yug-stree and is extremely close to people’s hearts and emotions. People associate a lot of positive qualities and continue to draw inspiration from Sita even in contemporary times. So when you’re playing the role of Sita, it is definitely not be taken lightly since it involves people’s deeply held sentiments and emotions.
It is extremely unfortunate that the incident happened and that too in the premises of a highly revered deity’s place of worship. It is natural for people to be hurt and outraged.”

She also adds,”The team definitely could have been careful and avoided the whole thing. Offending the public sentiment with
an emotive issue is a hard and difficult situation to be in.”
Madirakshi’s debut role was Sita in Siya Ke Ram so how did she handle herself during that point of time?

She says,”Sita in Siya ke Ram was my debut role and I was fortunate to work with a very well-informed team and crew. I am so thankful for all the guidance I had every step of the way. I must admit I adopted a conservative approach keeping in mind that our audiences are deeply emotionally invested in my character. This included how I appeared in public and how I conducted myself especially with huge crowds watching.

Obviously ,there are some commonalities between my character and me as a person.
I have lived the character and still retain a lot of attachment to it. Till today I have received a lot of warmth, love, affection, immense respect, fan mail from around the world and almost religious devotion all of which I owe to this role.”

Madirakshi also shares her take on Kriti playing Sita on screen. She says,”I don’t know the story line of Adipurush. I also do not know whose perspective the movie will take and how that will be received. However, I wish her well. I like her costumes and her look. She is also giving good vibes in character. I hope she is able to get through this tough patch and enjoy one like Sita’s character whose story we all grew up listening and know all too well.”
