Somy Ali’s inspiration to start ‘No More Tears’ is her mother!
Actress Somy Ali, who runs a US-based NGO called No More Tears and tirelessly works for the victims of domestic violence and rape, says that it was the experience of what her mother went through that led her to start her organisation. She took to Instagram to share a stunning, black and white picture of her mother recently and wrote about how she has suffered “unimaginable pain from all facets of life”.
She wrote, “I wish there was a No More Tears, when you were little.” A real survivor who has suffered unimaginable pain from all facets of life. It was all swept under the rug and in 2023, today the victims @nomoretearsusa rescues repeat the same story as my mother tells me about her plight. My mother is the reason for my giving birth to No More Tears. It was a chaotic upbringing to say the least, but we are all Survivors,” she wrote.
She added, “This post is for every single person who cares about our mission and who believes victims. I want all our donors, our gala committee, our board of directors, and volunteers to know that without you there was no way we could or would have been able to save over 40,000 victims of trafficking and domestic violence. We appreciate you and thank you!”
No More Tears is a volunteer-organisation that protects and helps victims of human trafficking, domestic violence and rape.
