Sujoy Mukherjee wins Dadasaheb Phalke Film Foundation Award for ‘Zindagi Anmol Hai’!
In the last few years short films have become important for the viewers as well as the film industry as most of them carry a social message which is beneficial to the society. Now all the awards functions have incorporated awards for short films category too. Through short films a filmmaker can tell a story more effectively because of the shooter duration of the film and no burden of box office. One such filmmaker, who hails from an illustrious family of Mukherjees, Mr #SujoyMukherjee did make a short film titled #ZindagiAnmolHai some time back which has won multiple awards so far. Now a prestigious #DadasahebPhalkeFilmFoundationAward has been won by Sujoy Mukherjee for ‘Zindagi Anmol Hai’. The film talks about mental health and how one can get over it believing in god.
The short film Zindagi Anmol Hai highlights the need to realise the importance human life itself. As everyone is aware that nobody’s life is bed of roses but the adversities should be dealt with strength which could be derived from prayers to almighty. A teenager girl faces rejection in love and gets dejected which leads to her thinking of ending her life. When she is about to commit the crime of suicide a small boy rings a bell. Maybe he’s a messenger of god who wanted to send her a message to not take her life as it is believed that life actually is a gift from the god to human beings. Incidentally Durga Puja starts the very next day and she takes part in the puja and forgets about suicide altogether. The film stars Shrishti Munka, Shreyas Porus Pardiwala, Helen Fonseca, Prema Kiran and Joyneel Mukherjee.
This award is special to Sujoy because it carries the father of Indian cinema’s name to it. Also it has been bestowed upon by CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association). Zindagi Anmol Hai has won 34 awards all over the globe. It is directed by Sujoy Mukherjee while the story and screenplay is credited to Sunil Kapoor, Sudhir Kapoor and Sujoy Mukherjee, Dialogues are penned by Sunil Kapoor and Moti Sultanpuri. The Durga Puja set was recreated by the filmmaker Sujoy Mukherjee for a realistic experience of the divine occasion.
