Tanya Maniktala says, ‘Without having an actual partner t o perform for a scene leaves a lot to your imagination’!
Our screen was our co-star. It was difficult as there was a struggle to get cues while performing,” says #TanyaManiktala on her character in #SonyLIV’s ‘#Chutzpah’. Tanya Maniktala will soon be seen in SonyLIV’s highly-anticipated web series ‘Chutzpah’. Besides her, the web show features Gen-X popular actors including #VarunSharma, #ManjotSingh, #GautamMehra, #ElnaazNorouzi and #KshitijChauhan amongst others.
The gorgeous actress who plays Shikha, Varun Sharma’s on-screen girlfriend in the show, suggests that the shooting process was a little difficult as compared to her previous projects as she was surrounded by gadgets all around with minimum crew members.
Tanya explains, “Without having an actual partner to perform for a scene leaves a lot to your imagination. You aren’t aware of what your co-star has done in that particular scene, so how are you supposed to react to it, is the question. This time, I had to perform purely looking at the screen which was a challenge in itself but I had a great director (Simarpreet Singh) and great team to assist me. So, it was fine and a new experience altogether. And yes, I could use my imagination too. SonyLIV has been coming up with great content and a show like ‘Chutzpah’ seemed fit for the platform.”
Spilling beans on her character in the show, Tanya adds, “Shikha is a young, bubbly girl who is very supportive of her partner in the show and his aspirations and dreams. She brings out the best in people all around her. She has always lived in a sheltered and protected life yet she manages to hold her own ground.”
Living up to the title, the new-age web show highlights the relevance of internet and social media in everyone’s life, which has caught the fancy of the viewers.
Produced by Dinesh Vijan, created by Mrighdeep, written by Amit Babbar and Mrighdeep, ‘Chutzpah’ is directed by Simarpreet Singh. An out-and-out entertainer, ‘Chutzpah’ will premiere on SonyLIV from 23rd July.
