Tanya Maniktala talks about the camaraderie on the sets of ‘Loot Kaand’!
#AmazonMXPlayer, Amazon’s free streaming service recently released its latest gripping heist thriller Loot Kaand, and— is creating waves with its compelling storytelling and high-octane drama. Helmed by #Ruchir, and produced by the makers of Drishyam, the series plunges into a world of masterful schemes, and life-or-death stakes. Sahil Mehta delivers a riveting performance as Palash, a street-smart hustler caught in a dangerous web of crime, keeping audiences on edge, while Tanya Maniktala’s intense portrayal of Latika, a resilient football coach grappling with moral dilemmas, adds further depth and complexity. The series also boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Gyanendra Tripathi, Saad Bilgrami, Ronjini Chakraborty, Nitin Goel, and Amit Sarkar in pivotal roles, elevating the high-stakes drama of Loot Kaand.
Reflecting on her transformative journey of bringing Latika to life, Tanya shares, “A well-structured script and the Director’s vision made the process incredibly seamless. He guided me in shaping Latika’s contrasting traits—while I naturally embody a quiet strength, Latika is fearless, outspoken, and unyielding. Ruchir sir masterfully wove in her vulnerability, allowing me to explore the delicate balance between her sensitivity and sharp resolve. At the core, Latika is a beautifully flawed yet deeply compassionate strong, graceful, and unwavering in her love for her family. My approach was to embrace every layer of Latika, ensuring she resonated as an authentic and multifaceted character.”
She further opened up about the camaraderie on set, saying, “Despite of Loot Kaand’s fast-paced world, unwinding it felt organic on set because the team became family. Shooting outdoors had its own charm, and Sahil and I often found ourselves revisiting scenes, exchanging perspectives, and delving deeper into our characters. Ruchir sir fostered an environment where creativity flowed naturally, making it easy to stay engaged without feeling the need for a break. In many ways, unwinding wasn’t about detaching from the characters but embracing the journey with people who shared the same passion. Filming felt less like work and more like an enriching collaboration, where lasting friendships were built along the way.”
Loot Kaand is now streaming for free exclusively on Amazon MX Player, available through its apps on mobile, Amazon’s shopping app, Prime Video, Fire TV, and Connected TVs.
