Tara Sutaria : ‘#Tadap’ is not a violent film, it’s an action film!
#TaraSutaria started her career as a child artist on television and later was active doing tv shows as well as on professional stage too which honed her acting chops to a great extent. Tara Sutaria debuted Bollywood with #KaranJohar’s #DharmaProductions along side #AnanyaPande, both of whom played love interests of Tiger shroff. The film did well at the box office and after regaling audiences in a successful film like ‘Marjaavaan’, Tara Sutaria will be seen as a solo heroine in her upcoming film ‘Tadap’ wherein she’s romantically paired with debutant Ahaan Shetty. During the promotions of ‘Tadap’ our correspondent Keerti Kadam happened to meet Tara Sutaria on her birthday and had an interesting chat.
Talking about the impact of corona and lockdown, Tara shared her thoughts, ‘Frankly everything was so frightening as no one in the world has faced this kind of situation earlier. I too was anxious and nervous as everything was at a standstill. But I am happy and excited now that our movie finally is releasing and our hard work of two years is being fructified.’ ‘I am staying with my twin sister in Mumbai and while staying at home during lockdown we did train in music and dancing. Also we spruced up out cooking talent. So actually it was a productive lockdown for me,’ added Tara.
‘Tadap’ is a remake of a hit Telugu movie ‘RX 100’ and Tara is playing the lead character. Talking about whether both films have any similarities or differences, Tara said, “Though it’s an adaptation, our film is quite different from the original though we have retained the original essence of the story and characters. Milan sir (Luthria : director) ans Sajid sir (Nadiadwala : producer) has given it a different approach and look. It’s been shot at a picturesque Manali which adds to the beauty of the film. ‘Tadap’ is made for Pan-India audience and the intense emotions which culminates into violence will entertain viewers. But our film is not a violent film, it’s an action film.” Talking about Ahaan’s debut and whether he received any preferential treatment during the filming, Tara said, ‘NG and Sajid sir and Milan sir never discriminated. Obviously since it’s Ahaan’s debut film, he deserves all the attention but no preferential treatment was meted out to anyone. My role too is equally important otherwise his character won’t have emotional depth.’
Talking about meeting Ahaan Shetty for the first time, Tara reacted, ‘I met Ahaan for the first time at Sajid sir’s office with Milan sir. Milan sir asked us to do a scene from Dirty Picture and after that he asked me whether I’ll be interested in doing this film. I immediately said Yes. It was that simple.’ ‘Tadap’ is Tara’s first solo heroine film. Talking about it, Tara opined, “Frankly I do not differentiate between a solo heroine film or an ensemble cast film. I do ot have qualms working in an ensemble film. My next Ek Villain 2 and Heropanti 2 too are multi-starrer. In fact, it helps to do different films with different actors. I get to portray diversifying characters with diverse talent.”
Talking about mental health Tara Sutaria expressed, “Being surrounded by your family and loved ones helps. Devoid being surrounded by ‘Yes’ people and be realistic about your skills. Be genuine in your approach. Mumbai life is too hectic and social media could be a hindrance. I am not very active on social media. Though it’s a huge blessing for the communication but everything in moderation helps. It’s a blessing in disguise that the Covid period has made people realise the importance of mental health.”
Tara Sutaria is a trained singer and she’ll be recording a song for her upcoming film ‘Ek Villain 2’ pretty soon, for which she’s super exited. Ahaan Shetty and Tara Sutaria starrer ‘Tadap’ is releasing in theatres on 3rd December, 21.
