Tawde sisters, Khushboo and Titeeksha, share their feelings on the occasion of Makar Sankranti!

Whatever festival it is, if it is celebrated with the family the joy multiplies. Tawde sisters #Khushbu and #Titeeksha, who have won everyone’s hearts with their excellent performances in their respective serials, expressed their feelings on the occasion of #MakarSankranti. #KhushbooTawde, who is well known for her character Uma in the serial ‘#SaraKahiTichyasathi’, said, “This year Makar Sankranti is very special for us because it is the first festival in our new house and also the first festival of the year. We moved to our new house during the Margashirsha period on an auspicious Thursday. As the season changes, so does the eating and drinking habits. Sesame seeds and jaggery are included in the diet. During this time, of the year I wear black clothes like everyone wears black clothes on Makar Sankranti eve because it gives the needed warmth to the body. An integral part of the celebration is holding a Haldi-kumkum ritual at the house which happens at my mother-in-law’s home in Sion. Makar Sankranti is celebrated in a very traditional way at our family house. My son Raghav has begun to speak a little, and I am eager to hear him speak and say the famous phrase of this festival ‘Tilgul Ghya God God Bola’.

Star of ‘Satvya Mulichi Satvi Mulgi’ and Maharashtra’s darling Titiksha Tawde, says, I celebrate Makar Sankranti with my family. I remember my childhood when, Khushbu, Mom, Me, and Dad used to sit together and make sesame seeds and jaggery ladoos, I was the one who couldn’t make them properly and the hot mixture of the ladoos would burst in my hands. But, for the past few years, I have been making excellent sesame seeds and jaggery ladoos. I love these ladoos so much that I used to finish one big dabba in one batch. The ladoos also have their benefits consuming them in this season gives your body warmth. This year also the plan is to celebrate the festival with parents. I have never flown a kite but Khushbu flew kites when she was studying in Gujarat and the reason behind flying a kite is that your body should get the heat of the sun.

Happy Makar Sankranti from us to all of you!
