Team ‘Aai Kuthe Kai Karte’ is keeping the cultural heritage alive for the benefit of new generations
Diwali is a festival which is admired by everyone. There are activities which hold onto rich cultural heritage of country, community. Homemade ‘Faral’ (snack items made during Diwali), sweets, crackers (though they are banned this year) make the atmosphere festive. Additionally new clothes and household items are invariably purchased. Youngsters, keeping the tradition alive, build mud castles and in some places there are competitions held of castle building.
In ‘Aai Kuthe Kai Karte’ Abhishek, Yash and Isha also build the fort in order to preserve this cultural heritage of Maharashtra. This special scene was shown in the serial to convey this golden history of Shivaraya, who established forts with the dream of Swarajya, to the new generation. Abhishek Deshmukh, who played the role of Yash, expressed the feeling that his childhood memories were revived on this occasion. I came to know that there is no age limit for building a fort, so I promised to build a fort at my house every year. He also thanked Pradip Lele and Srinivas Kakera of the Art Direction team for their help in building the fort.
Niranjan Kulkarni, who plays Abhishek, builds a mud fort at his home every year. He has kept this tradition intact for the last 30 years. This year too he built a fort at his home with his family. That’s why he didn’t have a hard time building a fort on the sets of the serial where his mother does. The director of the serial Ravi Karmarkar had given a special dialogue to Niranjan about the importance of the fort. Niranjan expressed the feeling that I was overwhelmed while realizing this whole scene.
