Tejaswini Pandit pays tribute to farmers on the fourth day of Navratri
Actress Tejaswini Pandit has set a precedent for nine days of social media photoshoots during Navratri. Every year Tejaswini Pandit does a special Navratri photoshoot with various ideas. This year, Tejaswini pays homage to the Corona Warriors through her illustration photo series. After paying tributes to the doctors on the first day, to the police on the second day and to the cleaners on the third day, Tejaswini paid homage to the farmers on the fourth day.
In this photo, it looks as if Goddess Annapurna is working on the bund of the field, disguised as a farmer’s mother, who is toiling in the field with her baby tied to her back. Commenting on the photoshoot, Tejaswini Pandit said, ‘No matter what happens to the farmers can’t work form home … whether there is heavy rain, or drought, locust crisis or corona … no matter what natural disaster occurs, the food provider cannot sit idle in lockdown. He has to work hard in the prevailing situations in heat, in the rain, in the cold.”
Tejaswini says, “We have a tradition of worshiping Annapurna Devi. For us, this farmer woman who works 365 days in the field is Annapurna. If she shuns work then others will go hungry. She even ties her little child on her back and works relentlessly so that others can eat. I thank them all for feeding us.’
