Tele-Celebs have their Holi plans sorted!
From dancing on #RangBarse, to bingeing on yummy gujiyas and playing with vibrant red or fiery yellow gulaal, these celebrities have their #Holi plans sorted!
Vijayendra Kumeria : This year, too, I’m not going to indulge in Holi parties because these are the times when a lot of people get together and we are still not out of the Covid situation. It’s not gone completely so I don’t want to take a chance. Holi is not going to be a party for me this time. The significance of Holi as we all know it’s ‘burai ka naash’ but it is also lots of colours, happiness and joy. I like the colour of gulal, the pinkish colour. When I’m shooting, I like to use a little yellow or gulal colour because it looks good on screen. My all-time favourite Holi song is Rang Barse.
Sharad Malhotra : Holi is a fun festival. I remember every year enjoying Holi parties with friends and family with some loud music, food, drinks and dance. I miss celebrations in Kolkata. But like last two years, this year too we will avoid going to places with a crowd as Covid is still here. Celebration can be done in any way. My kind of celebration is to be with my friends and family. This year we will also do the same only. Having a good time with friends and family is the best way to celebrate every occasion. My favourite colour is yellow and my favourite Holi song is Holi Kheele Raghuveera.
Jasmin Bhasi : I won’t be in India on Holi this year. I would be shooting for my Punjabi debut film this year which is titled Honeymoon. For me, Holi means colours, love, happiness and change of season. Last time, my song Tera Suit with Aly was released around Holi. My favourite is Rang Barse from Silsila featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha Ji.
Vaishalee Thakkar : I’m travelling this year on Holi. In our family, we fast till evening ( my mom and elders) and do Holika Darshan, break our fast and the next day celebrate Holi with our friends and cousins. We celebrate with colour, friends, food thandai and jalebi,
What else can one ask for! White and yellow are my favourite colours and my favourite Holi song is from the film Oh My God- Go Go Govinda.
Pragati Mehra : Though it’s my favourite festival but I do not have any plans for Holi this year. I am still being cautious and avoiding large crowds. For me, Holi is a burst of colours and loads of fun. I prefer the quintessential red gulaal, the organic one.
Ayush Anand : I will be in Mumbai this year shooting for the Star Plus show, so no plans this year as Covid scare is still there. I don’t want to put myself and my co-actors/unit members at risk. Each festival has its own significance and so does Holi. As families are becoming nuclear with time, festivals like Holi bring an opportunity where all my family members – paternal/maternal cousins, colony members get together and there is a sense of belonging which cannot be put into words. I have grown up in a big Punjabi joint family in Delhi and I always used to look forward to Holi. Apart from playing and doing all the mischief we did like going on the terrace and throwing water balloons, I also got the opportunity to play with a girl whom I used to like in my colony. So yes, for me Holi brings a lot of nostalgia.
Ankit Siwach : I would be celebrating Holi here in Mumbai as my shoot schedules are tight. I am not going to my hometown like every year. We will be celebrating with friends, I feel it is a great way of getting together with everyone, dancing, colours, food and lots of love. I used to like red colour earlier, but now I have realised that as per the day, mood and weather. I keep changing favourites, all colours are my favourite. My all-time favourite song is Rang Barse.
Hansa Singh : I basically love to play Holi, it’s fun with all colours, bhang and friends. But, this year, given my ankle sprain, I will sit at home and listen to Holi music played all around. Holika Dahan – is the time to burn all your sorrows and negativity. And pray for abundance, health and peace. Holi is all about being together. This is a festival that cuts all barriers across all caste, creed etc, it’s all about hugs and love, dance and masti. The colour of love that stays with you apart from all the other colours. My favourite Holi song is Rang Barse as it’s so earthy. It has the essence of a festival and it’s so desi. My favourite colour is Pink.
Prateik Chaudhary : I am just going to celebrate Holi on set with my sindoor ki keemat family. Holi, the Hindu festival of colour, is now celebrated around the world. The festival signifies the arrival of spring and, for many Hindus, the triumph of good over evil. Black and white are my favourite colours and my favourite Holi song is Rang Barse.
Harjinder Singh : Festivals, for me, are always about spending time with family. I enjoy spending time with my family and I enjoy Holi showers and yummy food. I’m already feeling the Holi vibe. As I just said, it’s family and friends who play tight, eat tight and then sleep tight (laughs). My favourite colour is black but I can’t use it on Holi, so I am going to go with green.
