Tele-Celebs name women who inspire them!
International Women’s Day celebrates women’s rights, equality and also their achievement in various fields. On this day, one also remembers the women who have been an inspiration to many. Actors Prakhar Toshniwal, Sshrey Pareek, Arjun Srivasstava, Shireen Mirza and Pritam Singh too are no different. They also celebrate this special occasion by remembering the women they look up to. Here’s who they admire:
Prakhar Toshniwal
The life and journey of acid attack survivor and campaigner for rights of acid attack victims Laxmi Agarwal have been a motivating factor in my life. Acid attack is still one of the most common crimes against women in India. And Laxmi is a living example of how no distress in life can stop you from following your dreams. In fact it only makes you stronger than before. Women are more than just a face, and Laxmi has proven just that. Her contribution towards the women of our society is laudable.
Sshrey Pareek
I am a huge fan and follower of actor, filmmaker and humanitarian Angelina Jolie. She is an inspiration to me in every way. She is not just a brilliant actor but the kind of humanitarian work she does, her involvement with charity and the way she helps poor children are things that I also would like to do in my life. She is constantly working for various social causes all over the world. I think as actors, our responsibility doesn’t end at performance. We must also use our popularity to help people for good and make this world a better place.
Arjun Srivasstava
American vice president Kamala Harris is the woman I look up to. She is the first woman to have received that position in US and you never know she might even become the president one day. Given her Indian-American background she and her family went to many things in life and she successfully wade through them to be what she is today makes her absolutely admirable. She has the kind of determination and grit needed to reach that stage in life. Even before becoming the vice president, the kind of journey she has had in the American politics, her contribution towards the betterment of women is commendable. The other woman who inspires me is Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Her journey being a brilliant artiste to everything else that has done including her humanitarian work makes her a complete woman. The incredible journey of Kamala Harris and Priyanka Chopra Jonas motivates me. This International Women’s Day I would like to salute both these women. They tell us how you have it in you to fulfill all your dreams, just be at it.
Shireen Mirza
I can think of several well-known women from history and even in present times who have been an inspiration to all of us. But today I want to talk about my help Shakeela, who I look up to because of everything that she has been doing. She works more than 18 hours a day to earn a living, to provide for her children and give them basic education so that they can lead a better life. Shakeela has four daughters and she’s bringing them up well, instilling in them a proper value system. Her dedication towards her work and family makes her special. A woman like her can achieve anything. Seeing her I can proudly say we are no less than anyone.
Pritam Singh
We don’t need to have a day to celebrate the contribution of women in making this world a better place. Womanhood is a celebration in itself. Yes we definitely need to recognize their rights, potential, achievements and contribution, but then that can’t be for just a day. It needs to be a 365-day thing. Mother Teresa and Indira Gandhi are the extraordinary women from the pages of history who encourage me to follow my dreams and do good to others. I think men should understand and value the women in their lives, love them and stay by them throughout. If you aren’t true to your woman, then you are definitely not on the right track.
