Tele-Celebs talk about who they want to gift something special as their Secret Santa, wish everyone Merry Christmas!
It’s the season to spread the cheer, be it among your loved ones, your own self or those who are less privileged. With Christmas round the corner, happiness is in the air. Apart from wishing people good health, bliss and Merry Christmas, this is also the time to give gifts to those we care about. Celebrities share who they want to give something and why as a Secret Santa. They also share their Christmas plans this year:
Hasan Zaidi – Christmas has always been big in our house since childhood. I’m married to Christina. She is an Australian and very attached to Christmas obviously because she is catholic, so is our daughter. Everybody looks forward to Santa and all the gifts that come along with it and obviously there is a lot of merriment. There is some good drinking of wine and people getting together is always something we all look forward to. All our friends know that Christmas is going to be big in our house. So it’s a yearly event, as we take the cheer forward to the coming year. I think nothing is going to change this year, hopefully. And since now I have a daughter, her wish list is my wish list. I know her wish list because she sends a letter to Santa every year, which obviously comes to me through her mother without her knowing. ‘Toh unki wishlist hum puri kar paye yahi zindagi ki koshish hai’.
Ridhiema Tiwari – I would like to be Secret Santa for my husband Jaskaran Singh. He recently lost his favourite pair of white shoes. He searched for them for days and couldn’t find them. I would love to give him a new pair. It’ll be a delight to surprise him and see the child like joy on his face. We have a Christmas tree at home that we’ll be decorating. Besides mistletoes and decorative lights, we’ll order Santa caps and click lots of family pictures around the tree. We will also indulge in some delicious Christmassy food and cakes. Plum cake is my most favourite and will also distribute cookies and chocolates. If I pack up early, we have plans for a Christmas dinner. It’s an excuse to put on some stylish winter wear and enjoy cozy family dinner with some great English retro music on a chilly Christmas night.
Kavitta Verma – Christmas is about gifts and fun. And yes the Santa gift is anticipated, mine will be going out too along with prayers. Love this month as the year comes to an end. One thing I’ve been wanting and waiting for a long time is having a Maltipoo as a family member. Hope this wish comes true as soon as possible. That’s what I’ll ask Santa for. My Christmas is going to be quiet and at home.
Ranaksh Rana – I think Secret Santa is a good way to get someone you closely admire, something special to wish well to show how much you appreciate them. This Christmas, I’d like to be the Secret Santa of my brother Neil Vijay Singh and give him a bag full of good wishes, hoping that this Christmas lights up his life, work and surrounds him with happy memories for life. We are friends as much as we are brothers. He has always been my partner-in-crime as well as my guardian. And giving something that has materialistic value is beyond us. I would want him to be on top of the world, and I hope my wishes get him there. Christmas is about positivity and good vibes, and I’m hoping that this Christmas brings us all some compassion, happiness and satisfaction for the year ahead. I would like to spend a low-key Christmas Eve reminiscing about the good times and maybe watching Home Alone or some other Christmas movie.
Reyen Eyes – Well, I want to answer this from a musical point of view because I have only had Secret Santas in an out-of-home setting. I would like to gift a Vinyl of 1628 to Mr Devraj Sanyal, the MD of Universal Music India. What is happening with music in India could have been delayed for decades if he wasn’t the one handling the reins. This vinyl would make a perfect present for him. There are some other amazing people out there but he was the first one that comes to my mind at the moment. I have wonderful long-awaited plans this Christmas and New Year. I am going to North-East India with my best travel buddy, my dad. The whole purpose is to just give 2022 the best start with a hunger for more. I also want to empty my mind, get reborn and dive into my then state of mind and come back to the shore with a new album, as 1628 is an album about my life until 18 years old, and now I am ‘18+’.
Sagar Parekh – Christmas is around the corner and yes I would love to gift my both parents a pair of precious watches and this would be a gift in return for all the sacrifices that they have made while parenting me and my younger brother. So I have always thought about it and since I’m capable of gifting them now. I’m definitely going to do it. And yes I’m going back to my hometown Ahmedabad and I’m going to spend some quality time with my family, my parents and I’m going to meet my grandmother and spend some quality time with her. This is all I want to spend some time with my family at the end of the year.
Ssumier Pasricha – Well I don’t have any Christmas plans this year because I am travelling and away from the family, but to my mom I would love to gift a holiday package to Kashmir for a much needed break she deserves.
Joyita Chatterrjee – If I want to gift something on Christmas and be a secret santa for someone then surely it’s my mother. And the gift would be my father. If there’s a secret Santa then he would definitely bring back my father.
Perneet Chauhan – I plan to stay home with my family, wish people virtually and also I plan to plant a tree this christmas.
I would send a gift to Shahrukh khan via secret santa.
I would bake a cake for him and send a handwritten note appreciating his humility and telling him he’s the most romantic man on the silver screen. He’ll always be every girls “Raj”
Ragini Nandwani -;
I would like to be the Secret Santa of my mother. And as her gift, I would like to take her on a trip to Norway where we can enjoy the natural and historical beauty as well as the spectacular northern lights.

Vijayendra Kumeria – Christmas is all about spreading love and positivity, joy and fun. So it feels good. Well, as far as the plan goes I would like to spend a low-key Christmas Eve, watching all-time favourite Christmas movies at home. And since I have a daughter, her wish list is my wish list. so I will be her secret santa and she is looking forward to Santa and all the gifts that come along with it.
Nupur Joshi – Happy December vibes are already in full swing. Not only because of Christmas and New Years, but it’s my Birthday month! So the celebrations are always in triples. (Laughs) If my Secret Santa gifts/wishes could help, I would want to give a day off to our beloved PM Shri Narendra Modi ji. He’s been working towards building our nation stronger and happier. So this festive break will be well deserved and may also add happy energies. Heartfelt wishes for a happier and prosperous New Year!
Vaishalee Thakkar – I would like to give my niece Maishaa a beautiful dress for New Year’s Eve. She is 10 years old and she still believes that Santa comes home every year with a gift for her and she gets what she asks for. Well, I want her to keep her belief, so this year again I am going to be her Secret Santa.
Harshali Zine – I missed my sister Swapnali’s birthday , which was on December 14, and around that time I was offline meditating. Now that I’m back, I’ll send her a birthday gift and Christmas goodies. It would be a vegan birthday cake, winter essential oils, adaptogen herbs like Ashwagandha and shatavari, with a handwritten letter wishing her abundance of health, wealth and happiness. I have already sent Christmas gifts to my parents and brother before I went offline.
Delnaaz Irani – Christmas is just round the corner and there are no plans as such because I would be shooting for my show and the best gift would be the best gift that I will give my fans this Christmas. They have loved me for so many years, have appreciated and applauded my work, so for them this year, we will be announcing a new project Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Se, where I play a very different role. For all the love they have showered on me all these years there is yet another very powerful and sweet role I’m doing that will hopefully entertain them. So I think that is one thing. We have not planned any party on Christmas as such. Like I said it will be a working Christmas and New Year, which is also nice and good because since the last two years we all have been sitting at home so it’s good for me that this time I would be working.
Saanand Verma – I would like to give Mr. Virat Kohli his ODI Captainship as a gift because it is very unfortunate that he is no longer helming the Indian side for One Day Internationals. So that’s what I really want to give back to him because Virat Kohli is the best captain Indian cricket has ever seen. That’s what I feel. Though he hasn’t performed too well in the recent contest, I still feel he’s the best. And my Christmas plan is to watch 83 because Ranveer Singh has done his career best performance and I really relate with the greatest achievement of the Indian cricket because I think that the day when Indian won the world cup in 1983 under Mr. Kapil Dev’s leadership, I think that is the most glorious, most proudest day of Indian cricket. So that’s my plan to watch this movie, 83 and applaud the awesomeness of Kapil Dev and his boys and that is what I feel I must do this Christmas.

Sharad Malhotra – Xmas is undoubtedly my most favorite time of the year and this year too Ripci & I will be getting the Xmas tree ready at home with gift boxes to be wrapped and kept under the tree. We love playing the Xmas carols while sipping on our hot chocolate with marshmallows and feasting on some yummylicious homemade plum cake, courtesy of wifey. This year we are in addition to our family, Our four-legged baby Leo will also be joining in the celebrations..We also have a ritual to give each other gifts and most likely the cast of my current show Vidrohi might come together and participate in this fun mystery game called secret Santa. It’s the warm and fuzzy feeling that you get in the cold month of December when you’re nicely tucked in watching your all-time favorite Xmas movies somewhere believing in your heart that Mr. Santa actually might show up and leave something on your bed side..This is the magic of Xmas that helps to bring out the child in you.
Somy Ali – For me Christmas means No More Tear’s (NMT) Holiday Party as we have children who were abused and they all belong to different faiths. They attend the party with their mothers who are also survivors of domestic violence. We have had our Holiday Party annually since the inception of NMT in 2007. We have over 300 children, who attend the party and they get pizzas, cakes, and toys. Nothing is more meaningful than bringing joy to these children who have endured unfathomable trauma. And to see them smile as they receive their gifts and enjoy the pizzas is the best way to celebrate Christmas or any other holiday intertwined in one single event.
Sham Mashalkar – Christmas is just near and I’m very happy and excited. I always celebrate Christmas and feel really good. Our friends, their children, we all enjoy together. My son always wants to have a chocolate Bungalow, I mean there’s a song in Marathi, “Asava Sundar chocolate cha Bungala” which means in a dream, there would be a Bungalow made out of chocolate. He finds it very exciting. He’s like ‘Oh Wow! I will go visit the chocolate bungalow’, I will enjoy it. Being a Secret Santa, I will give him the chocolate bungalow, he’ll enjoy it. Okay I had plenty of chocolates but jo maza ek cadbury ko mere friends ke saath ya mom dad ke saath share karne mein hai, woh excitement pura Chocolate ke Bungalow mai nahi. Iss bahane I want to give him a life lesson so that he understands that materialistic pleasures mean so little in our lives. That’s all I wanted to make him feel. And I will dress up like Santa Claus and give him his bungalow. I played the role of Santa Claus for Nickelodeon, two years back, so I have experience.
Simple Kaul – Well, as far as the plan goes I’ll be in my own restaurant 1BHK because we celebrate Christmas beautifully there with live music. We’ve a catholic vibe and catholic music is also being played, and we all dance, have a great time. I have friends and family around me on that day. This time my parents are also there, so it’s going to be really good. And most probably my friends from my show Ziddi Dil Maane Na will also join me. So we all will be celebrating together.
Aditya Deshmukh – Christmas is all about spreading love and positivity. It’s a mark of spreading joy and fun… I like the way people decorate their houses and Christmas trees. I just go to my friend’s place every year they decorate their house with the lights, and other things. Their Christmas tree looks bright and beautiful every year. We also help them decorate the Christmas Tree. So it feels good. Also, since years, I have been the Secret Santa to my nephews and niece. I make them believe that I’m Santa and give them gifts, chocolates and toys. This year let’s see if we get time after the shoot gets over. I’m thinking about watching The Matrix Resurrections and then later in the night I will go to a friend’s place for a party. Let’s see if I get a day off, that’s how it’s going to be. So, that’s the plan for this year.
Meera Deostale – Every year I give something to my brother for sure. And that has been like a tradition since we were kids. Well, I always hoped he would take the hint someday and give me something but he just enjoys being the kid. Other than that, there are so many kids I see at traffic signals. And I love bringing some joy to them. Every year I pick a route and go about giving them food, clothes or old books. I will continue to do so till I can.
Pragati Mehra – Christmas is around the corner and I think Secret Santa is a good way to get someone you closely admire, something special to wish well to show how much you appreciate them and as a secret santa I would like to gift the whole world a corona fear free life! And this year is going to be a working Christmas! Let’s see if I get a day off or I pack up early.
Merry xmas
Ho ho ho
Nishant Malkhani – I would like to be Secret Santa for my brother Laksh, and want to gift him a holiday trip to Maldives once Covid situation gets better. We had a plan to travel in the Christmas and new year earlier, when all the corona fear was almost over. We were planning to go to the Maldives or Singapore, which opened up recently. But now we’ve cancelled all the plans because Omicron is here and you never know anything can happen if you travel to a different country and even in India, I dont think it’s safe to travel somewhere right now.
Nyrraa M Banerji – This year me and my mom would like to be secret santa for the poor kids and there are so many kids I see at traffic signals out there. We would be giving chocolates and food and clothes as gifts to them.Well, as far as the plan goes I’ll be shooting, it’s going to be a working Christmas this year, If I pack up early, me and my mom will be going out for dinner.
Aman Maheshwari – Christmas is all about the festive fever. It feels good to see so much positivity and love all around. I pamper myself with chocolate cake and cookies. And I want to be my sister’s secret Santa. Because of the pandemic we have all been stuck at home, so once we are over the COVID pandemic, I would like to take her on a trip to Europe.
Keerti Kadam.
