Thank You For Coming : Carnal satiation and more….!

In a male dominated society across the world female’s rights have been the cause of concern. In a developing country like India, majority of women live in the shadows of men. After urbanization and formation of nuclear families, fair sex started getting education and thus respect. But their inner conflicts were never addressed as far as sex is considered. Frankly having an orgasm and talking about it is taboo, still today in our country. The latest release #ThankYouForComing addresses this female centric issue in a bold and loud fashion. It is estimated that more than 70% females in India have orgasm problem but nothing is said or done about it. The feminist sect is trying to raise several issues including this one but it’s mainly covers urban females. The film raises the feminism flag high and the director #KaranBoolani subtly offers a solution to females for fulfilling their carnal desires.
Kanika Kapoor (#BhumiPednekar), raised by a single mother, (#NatashaRastogi) is a 32 year old spinster. She is a successful chef but despite having active sexual life has not orgasmed. Her besties Tina Das (#ShibaniBedi) and Pallavi Khanna (#DollySingh) seem to have only one mission at hand i. e. help their best friend to ‘Come’. Her grandmother (#DollyAhluwalia) seems to be only sane character in the family. Kanika keeps flitting from lover to lover, Sushant Digvijay, Karan Kundra, Anil Kapoor, but is unable to ‘come’. This makes her depressed and wild and in a spur of a moment decides to marry her rich admirer Jeevan Anand (Pradhuman Singh). What happens next and in between forms the crux of the story.
Written by Radhika Anand and Prashanti Singh, TYFC, keeps following one track with regurgitation. The producer Ekta Kapoor usually takes up similar subjects for OTT but this time she has made a feature film on this feminine issue. In a conservative society like India, this subject is difficult to stick with majority of the audience and the A certification will add to the misery. But a voice needs to raised on these issues and director Karan Boolani handles the serious subject with elan using comedy. Sex comedies are like walking on thin ice, but he walks steadily. The production values are high and visually the movie is excellent. The desi one lines are good in some places. Music is passable but editing should have been a bit crisper. Bhumi Pednekar carries the entire film on her shoulders and shines in the role of ‘unable to come’ Kanika. She handles emotional and comic scenes with ease and makes the film believable throughout. She is well supported by Shibani Bedi, Dolly Singh, Shehnaz Gill, Kusha Kapila. Anil Kapoor walks through the role with ease and Sushant Digvijay and Karan Kundra are passable.
Thank You For Coming is mainly for urban females and their carnal satiation who may like this film.
