The fourth book of the acclaimed Ram Chandra Series, ‘War of Lanka’, by Amish, launched!
Celebrated author #Amish launched his much-awaited fourth book in the #RamChandraSeries – #WarofLanka – at #CrosswordBookstore, #KempsCorner, in #Mumbai. Jam-packed with eager readers, the launch event was also live streamed for the fans of Amishverse across the country. Published by #HarperCollins, War of Lanka merges the parallel multi-linear narratives of the first three books – #RamScionofIkshvaku, #SitaWarriorofMithila, and #RaavanEnemyofAryavarta – into a single narrative.
The book launch of War of Lanka witnessed an exhilarating performance by Drum Circle, who enthralled the audience with their energetic performance. Amish and his son Neel joined the troupe on the stage where the duo launched the book. Adding to the excitement, Mosaic Brothers – Sai Kumar Akula and Pavan Akula – created Amish’s portrait using Rubik’s Cubes, much to the amazement of the audience.
Elaborating further on the novel, Amish said, ‘I am delighted to bring the 4th book of the Ram Chandra Series to readers. The first 3 books of the Ram Chandra Series were set in a multi-linear narrative which tracked the stories of the principal characters (Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Raavan) from their birth to a common ending in the narrative viz. the kidnapping of Goddess Sita. So, all the 3 books ended in the same place where Raavan kidnaps the princess of Mithila. The 4th book, War of Lanka, will be a common narrative from the kidnapping till the death of Raavan. Many clues and secrets left in the first 3 books will be revealed in this 4th book. I hope the readers enjoy it!’
Swati Daftuar, Executive Editor – Commercial, HarperCollins India said, “The sheer scale of War of Lanka is magnificent. And of course, along with all the wonderful ingredients that make an Amish book impossible to put down, what War of Lanka also gives us is the satisfaction of seeing all those pieces from the previous books fall into place – all those plotlines, events and trajectories converge here, in a book that will grip you right from the first page. This is exactly what we’ve all been waiting for – that big, breathtaking, unputdownable read that we can always count on Amish for. It’s truly a pleasure to have him with us.”
Poulomi Chatterjee, Publisher, HarperCollins India said, ‘For over a decade now Amish has mined some of the oldest and best-loved stories of this land, and employed his prowess at storytelling to create worlds that have enthralled millions of readers across the world. We at HarperCollins India are delighted to bring to readers his entire body of work so far, along with a brilliant new book, War of Lanka, which brings the pace, drama and emotions of his bestselling Ramachandra series to a fitting crescendo!’
Shailesh Sawlani, VP and Country GM, Audible India said, “At Audible, we couldn’t be more thrilled to be launching the War of Lanka audiobook for Amish’s fans to listen to.
