The Rebel Kid Apoorva Mukhija says, “It is not over, till I say it is”!
After being away from social media, Apoorva Mukhija ‘#TheRebelKid’ made a strong and powerful comeback yesterday and the social media got to see what the other side looked like. “Don’t take away the story from the storyteller”, resonated with the netizens so much as the social media star shared the dreadful online trolling and threats following her appearance on India’s Got Latent.
In two bold Instagram posts, Apoorva addressed the toxic wave of hate she endured- from acid attack to rape amid death threats. One post featured a chilling 20-slide thread of the worst comments she received—a mere fraction of not even 1% of what she faced. Users of social media, fans, actors, influencers, personalities from across the world jumped in to show support widely. “More power to you”, “you’re not just surviving you’re inspiring”, “want to hear your side”, “nobody deserves this” and more popped up immediately.
Apoorva expressed gratitude for the support she was receiving from the fans and close friends and also apologised to the audience and spoke about the type of content she aspires to make, she said, “I genuinely create content to entertain people and to make them laugh I never wanted to hurt anybody and I’m very very sorry I should have been more mindful of my words but I have learned my lesson and I promise I will do better going forward. I just hope you guys can forgive me and I am very sorry if I hurt your sentiments.”
The Rebel Kid has finally made a comeback with a full-length YouTube video and now that we finally got to know what she has been through, we know that she has been tough and strong all this time. She has made a powerful statement once again with her storytime and has taken accountability of being more careful in the future.
