The stars of Sony Entertainment Television commemorate India’s 74th Republic Day!
Commemorating the day that the Indian Constitution was implemented, 26th January fills every Indian’s heart with patriotism and love for our country. This day sends a message of freedom and unity to the citizens of this diverse nation and the stars of Sony Entertainment Television’s slate of shows share their messages for India’s 74th Republic Day.
Judge of MasterChef India, Chef Vikas Khanna shares, “This date signifies the foundation of a new India and the emergence of our country as a republic. On Masterchef India, the Republic day challenge will bring alive the culinary beauty of India. Just as we used to see on television, with motorcades in Delhi and people coming from different parts of the country to express the diversity of our nation, this episode of MasterChef India will give you a glimpse into the varied food preparations of our country. This is our small way of paying ode to our nation on our 74th Republic Day.”
Aditi Dev Sharma who essays the role of Katha in Kathaa Ankahee shares, “I’d like to wish one and all a Happy Republic Day. I have many sweet memories related to this day – when I was young I would look forward to watching the colourful parades and singing patriotic songs, it used to fill my heart with so much pride. And I would go on a patriotic film-watching spree with my family. We would watch Border, Soldier, Lakshya, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and many more films. I really miss school time Republic day as we used to do parade wearing our house uniform, perform folk dances of different states under the theme of ‘Unity in Diversity’ and those laddoos still make my mouth water. Republic Day brings those cherished childhood memories for me.”
Shubhavi Choksey who essays the role of Nandini in Bade Acche Lagte Hain 2 shares, “I’ve always been a part of the flag hoisting ceremony in my neighborhood, and my favourite patriotic song is ‘Ae mere vatan ke logo, zara aakh me bhar lo Pani’. The Republic Day reminds us of our freedom struggle and how the great freedom fighters sacrificed their lives to safeguard this country. It is a day to reaffirm our commitment to equality and fraternity for all, unity in diversity. On this occasion, let us take a pledge to not let the efforts of our brave freedom fighters go in vain and salute the resilience of our jawans serving and protecting the country and its border in harsh conditions. Republic Day represents the spirit of free India, and I wish everyone a Happy Republic Day.”
Gaurav Dubey from The Kapil Sharma Show says, “I feel India is the only country which truly defines unity in diversity. As a child I remember sitting with my family on Republic Day and watching the parade live on television. I used to be very excited about the tri-color decorations and flag hoisting at school. Every citizen should enjoy the freedom we’ve been given by our forefathers but at the same time, do not misuse this right that we won after such a long struggle. I wish all of us to continue to celebrate this historic day with utmost pride and zeal. Here’s wishing all my fans a very Happy Republic Day, stay blessed and work towards making a better India every day.”
