‘The White Tiger’ actor, Adarsh Gourav, feels that his preparation and dedication paid off!
A fan of the arts since inception, rising star #AdarshGourav has recently won global appreciation by fans and critics alike for his stellar performance as #Balram in #TheWhiteTiger. The latest episode of the #IMDbOriginal series #NoSmallParts traces his exciting cinematic journey.
Trained in classical music in his hometown Jamshedpur, it was only after his father’s transfer to Mumbai, that his acting career set about. While performing at a prominent arts festival in the city, Gourav was approached and asked if he’d be interested in acting. Excited by the idea of being on screen, Gourav agreed, thus embarking the journey of his acting career and, after multiple auditions, landing the role of young Shah Rukh Khan in My Name Is Khan..
After landing the part of Balram in The White Tiger, Gourav decided to fully embrace his new role and disguised himself to resemble Balram. He worked menial jobs in Jharkhand, while staying with a family he’d known only for a few weeks. It was then that he realized how difficult most jobs are and considered himself lucky to be able to step out of it whenever he wished.
Gourav’s preparation and dedication paid off – he was nominated for a 2021 BAFTA Award in the Lead Actor category (winners will be announced on April 10 and 11, 2021).
