“This role has helped me heal from my grief”, says Urvashi Upadhyay of ‘Ishq Subhan Allah’
Zee TV’s Ishq Subhan Allah brought back the original Zara Siddiqui who was essayed by Eisha Singh till last year. However, that’s not it. In a fresh twist post lockdown, Zara returned to the show in the avatar of a music healer and giving a new life to her was none other than Beghum Noorjahan played by renowned actress Urvashi Upadhyay.
Lovingly called as Ustani by Zara, Begum helps her to heal with her music therapy. Actor Urvashi Upadhyay considers this role to be very ‘divine’ to her. “It is indeed wonderful to play a person who creates music with various instruments. I am enjoying playing this role and in a way, it has helped her heal from my grief” said Urvashi
Elaborating further, the actor asserted that she lost her mother in 2019, after which she had been mentally disturbed. Urvashi also recalled the time when she had bagged a show, which she then turned down, as she was not in a condition to shoot. “I lost my mother last year and I had been mentally disturbed with the loss. I had in fact bagged a show which I had to decline as I was not in a condition to shoot. And after many months, when I got this role, my family was saying that this is a role which I can take up and feel happy about. It is such a coincidence that I play a role who is healer via music. And this has come to me at a time when I needed it the most. My knowledge of playing the guitar has helped me a lot to work on this role. As Ustaani, it is enjoyable, and I am having a great time on set.”
With Noor Beghum’s help Zara has taken up the challenge to confront and heal her ‘kaatil’, Shahbaz in a month’s time provided she gets a separate room in Kabir’s house to practice the healing, thus respecting Kabir’s religious sentiments. While Kabir and Zara slowly get close to understanding each other, an envious Rukhsar (Shipsy Rana) is all set to create trouble between the duo. Will Zara and Kabir’s love for each other transcend beyond Rukhsar’s evil intentions?
