&TV actors share their Bollywood-inspired holiday pictures!
Bollywood films have long been a source of inspiration, not just for their stories but also for highlighting stunning international locations. Whether it is the serene landscapes of Venice, the vibrant streets of Spain, or the romantic allure of Paris, these cinematic experiences spark a desire to explore. &TV artists including Neeta Mohindra (Kailasha Bua, Bheema), Deepa Savargaonkar (Sushila Bua, Atal), Sapna Sikarwar (Bimlesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Vidisha Srivastava (Anita Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai) share their experiences of making Bollywood-inspired travel plans.
Neeta Mohindra, aka Kailasha Bua from Bheema, shares, “Visiting Venice in 1991 was like stepping into a dream, inspired by watching The Great Gambler. The Grand Canal, the graceful gondolas, and the timeless beauty of the city took my breath away. Gliding through the waterways, I felt like I was living a scene from the movie itself, immersed in the romance and charm of Venice. A decade later, in 2001, after watching Hero No. 1, I finally made it to Paris. Standing beneath the Eiffel Tower, I was struck by the magnificence of the city and its ability to blend history with modernity. Both trips were cinematic, and each left me with memories that I cherish to this day. Venice and Paris, much like the films that inspired me to visit, are places where art, culture, and magic come to life.”
Deepa Savargaonkar, aka Sushila Bua from Atal, adds, “Bollywood films often inspire our travel bucket lists, and that’s exactly what happened to me after watching Kaho Na Pyar Hai. I instantly fell in love with the seashores and iconic spots in Thailand featured in the movie. When I finally visited, I was completely in awe of the breathtaking beauty—the stunning blue waters and expansive sky left me mesmerized. I vividly remember spending an entire day island-hopping by boat, soaking in the surreal views of the sea and sky. It was a dream come true. There are several other destinations I have added to my list, inspired by Bollywood films, and I am excited to explore them soon.”
Sapna Sikarwar, aka Bimlesh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “During my teenage years, I was captivated by Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’s exotic locales and romantic getaways. The film sparked a dream in me to visit Mauritius. Recently, I turned that dream into reality! Walking on the pristine beaches of Mauritius, and indulging in delicious local cuisine was a surreal experience. I felt like I was living Anjali’s adventure. The film’s iconic scenes came alive, and I relived the magic. Watching Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as a kid ignited a fire in me to explore the world, and now I inspire others to chase their travel dreams. The movie taught me that life is full of surprises, and sometimes all it takes is a little inspiration to turn your fantasies into unforgettable experiences!”
Vidisha Srivastava, aka Anita Bhabi from Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai, adds, “Thailand had always been on my travel list, and watching movies like Student of the Year and Baaghi sparked my excitement even more. Their vibrant portrayal of breathtaking locations made me dream of visiting this beautiful country. When I recently set foot in Thailand, it felt like stepping into a film scene. The serene beaches, clear waters, and stunning landscapes were just as mesmerizing as I had imagined. From exploring the temples to experiencing the lively street markets, every moment felt like a scene unfolding in front of me. The adventurous side of Thailand, especially the thrilling water sports, reminded me of the action sequences in Baaghi. It was an unforgettable trip, and in many ways, it felt like I was living the dream these movies had sparked in me.”
