UPGS award for Mahesh Pandey
Writer-director-producer Mahesh Pandey, known for his shows like “Vidya” and “Gupta Brothers”, was recently conferred with the Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman (UPGS) award for his contribution to the Indian Television industry and also the Bhojpuri Film industry. He was accompanied by his wife Madhu Pandey at the ceremony where he was presented with the award by Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dr. Dinesh Sharma.
Mahesh took to Instagram to share a few pics from the event, and wrote, “I am ecstatic to announce that I have been bestowed with “Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman” from the Honourable Education Minister @drrpnishank_ Ji (Govt. of India ) & Honourable Deputy chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Dr. Dinesh sharma ji for my contribution towards Hindi Tv serials & Bhojpuri Cinema. I want to Thank all the people who have been a part of my journey. Jai Hind. Thank You Maa Foundation, Mukesh Singh ji & Dr. Sunil Yogi ji for this Honour.”
The ace producer started his career as a writer for Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms with “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii”. And soon he was writing for their other shows as well like “Kasautii Zindagii Kay” and “Kutumb”. After writing and directing a couple of more shows, he later started his production company called Mahesh Pandey Productions, and has produced shows like “Vidya” under his banner.
He has also made films in Bhojpuri like “Gabbar Singh”, “Sapoot”, “Rani Chali Sasural”. Currently, he is awaiting the release of his Dinesh Lal Yadav-starrer “Gabru”.
