Vaishnavi Ganatra says, ‘Social media brings a lot of name and fame in today’s world’!
We spend a lot of time on social media these days. This discovery has definitely changed our lives both for good and bad. Many opine that life was simple before social media came into existence. #WohTohHaiAlbelaa actor #VaishnaviGanatra feels that social media is very important as it makes communication easy, but nothing in excess is good.
“Being an actor, there is a constant need of being socially active. Social media brings a lot of name and fame in today’s world. But with this comes competition, the responsibility of proper representation and the right type of socialization where we don’t hurt anyone’s feelings or emotions. Nowadays social media platforms have also turned into a place for friendly banters because it allows people to freely express their opinion. Before all of this came into the picture, people didn’t always have their heads buried in their phones. Constantly looking into phones replaced actual viewpoints and earphones replaced listening to genuine conversations and learning from them,” she says, adding that social media definitely modernizes our society but also has a few cons.
She continues, “Actually meeting new people in real life, eating together and talking about the day, sharing beautiful memories in the real world instead of the virtual one- all of it has changed now. The day a person learns how to create a balance between the real and virtual is the day things will become pretty around us.”
The actor finds social media tempting and does use it quite often. She has reasons to do so and has also mastered the art of finding a balance between the real and the virtual world.
“The urge to keep making reels or upload pictures exists. But balance is the key. I don’t use my social media platform to just impress people but also to impact them. There are people out there who probably look up to me. They may be learning something or the other or maybe admiring my work. My content may be giving someone self-confidence too. You never know. Everyone is glued to their screens 24/7 and the chances of getting influenced are high. Being an actor, social activity is very important to me and I keep checking my social media frequently. I genuinely care that people put in so much effort for me in the form of posts and mentions. They never fail to make me smile! I upload content frequently so that the audience stays tuned to my daily life. I do think twice before uploading something because reviews matter to me. I happen to ask a person or two about what changes I can make. This adds a lot more creativity to my content and gives it a new perspective. Social media is unquestionably necessary but it isn’t everything. I have learned how to create a balance between the virtual world and the real world at a very young age. And I am very proud of that,” she ends.
