Valuable Edutainment helps Kanta Murti Kallar for her impromptu social work

Valuable Edutainment Private Limited, a leading player in digital education, has come forward to lend helping hand to Kanta Murti Kallar, who stood by a manhole at Matunga station for more than seven hours to avert any mishap under poor rains last week. The company deposited Rs 1 lakh in her bank for her home and education of her two daughters and handed over Rs 10,000 to compensate her loss after the cash she scraped together for days washed away in the downpour.
The viral video uploaded on social media featuring 50-year old Kanta Murti Kallar has become talk of the town. Kalan, who resides on the footpath in a tent-like home next to Matunga station near Senapati Bapat Road, opened the manhole so that the water receded fast. She guarded the manhole, which is right in the middle of the road, so that nobody falls into it. She also guided motorists like traffic police and helped pedestrians to keep safe distance from the manhole. While she was exercising her social responsibility, her shanty and Rs 10,000, gathered for the digital education of her two daughters Janki and Tamilshree studying in Std VIII and X respectively, washed away in the rains.
Kanta Murti Kallar “acted like a savior by saving others by risking her own life. Her gesture was no mean feat. When we heard that she has lost her roof and Rs 10,000 accumulated for the digital education of her two daughters, we thought it to be our moral responsibility to lend her a helping hand. We are into digital education with the prime motto of ensuring that no kid is deprived of the education which is her/his fundamental right. To ensure that Kanta Murti Kallar’s daughters are not dropped out from the school in the wake of the calamity they faced, we decided to shoulder the responsibility. We have already deposited Rs 1 lakh in her account and handed over Rs 10000 to her in cash. We hope others are inspired, with a small endeavour we put in, and come forward to help the Kallar family,” said Ameya Hete, founder, Valuable Edutainment Private Limited.
Her sense of social responsibility was applauded by all when the video of hers went viral on social media and stories appeared in a section of the media. The incident reminded many the unfortunate end of well known gastroenterologist from a South Mumbai hospital Dr Deepak Amrapurkar who fell in a manhole near Prabhadevi during heavy rainfall in 2017.
Taking a note of the gesture, Valuable Edutainment Private Limited has come forward to help Kanta Murti Kallar and her daughter in getting their roof back and completing the education. The group has already deposited Rs 1 lakh into her bank account for re-gathering her house and completion of the studies of her two daughters and handed over Rs 10,000 to compensate her lost money.
