Visually impaired contestant of KBC 14 Aneri Arya tells Mr Bachchan she is a fan of ‘Black’!

#SonyEntertainmentTelevision ‘s ‘knowledge-based’ game show, ‘#KaunBanegaCrorepati – Season 14’ will be welcoming #AneriArya from #Surat, #Gujarat to the hotseat. The 26-year-old assistant professor of English in #ShreeBhaikakaSochitraGovernmentArtsandScienceCollege is visually impaired and has congenital glaucoma. Her ‘never give up attitude’ would be impressing host Mr #AmitabhBachchan, who applauds her gameplay as she uses the process of elimination and deduction to play the game smoothly and win higher and higher amounts.

Further in the show, Aneri would shed light on the unique teaching techniques that she uses to teach her students at college and also credits her parents as they taught her how to read and write which is why she does not use braille but takes the help of smart AI. Both Big B and Aneri would also be dishing in on Gujarati food, singing praises of the cuisine and its delicacies. A video story would tell the audience and Big B about the contestant’s life that she spends in her university’s hostel.

Talking about films, Aneri who is a big fan of Big B’s film ‘Black’ describes how she watches the film with the help of her friends and family. She listens to the movie as it is being played and the parts she does not understand, her companion would describe it to her. Awestruck, Mr Bachchan would be professing his pride and astonishment at this and thanking her for experiencing films like this. The host would be telling the contestant how she must have related with the visually impaired character’s journey in the film and found herself motivated. Aneri would then reply to this by saying how she found her own teacher in Mr Bachchan’s character in the film, “Sir, you have played the role of a teacher in the film (Black) and with your influence, Rani Mukerji’s character was able to express herself and grow. Just like that, even I have a teacher, my PhD guide, Dr Sunil Shah.” The host would then congratulate and salute the teacher for motivating and encouraging Aneri, making her capable enough to play so well in the gameshow.

Talking about her experience, Aneri says, “I remember getting goosebumps as I sat on the hotseat. There was so much happening around me that it was overwhelming, but Amitabh sir’s calm voice soothed all my apprehensions. It was an experience of a lifetime, and I don’t think I will ever be able to forget this. Mr Bachchan and I shared a lot of conversations, I told him about my favourite book, ‘The Metamorphosis’ by Franz Kafka and my favourite film of his, ‘Black’. My parents also conversed with him during the show and my mother told him about sending me out of the nest while my father told him about how proud he is of my journey. It was a wholesome experience and I thank Sony TV and the team of KBC for such a smooth process.”
