Last week we all got to see the natural disaster striking Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district. Producer and actor Ajay Kumar Singh who is currently making four films in Bengali, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu language was in Dehradun when this incident took place. The units of Marathi and Bengali were shooting in Dehradoon. Ajay who is also acting in the 4 films says,” We were lucky to be saved as our area of shooting was far away from the affected area. We were at Dehradoon. Though there was high alert and the whole atmosphere was a bit tense, we were all safe. We had some scenes near the river which we cancelled. On the day of the disaster yes there was a tense situation on the set.”
Ajay will be seen playing a cop in all the four films. The Bengali and Marathi films have completed the shooting and now the Tamil and Telugu version will start. Speaking about his experience of working in the Marathi and Bengali versions Ajay adds,” It was a nice and fulfilling experience. Director Kabir Lal is a detailed person who takes care of even the minute things. We had a great time shooting with him. We could all feel the satisfaction of working with him. His son Syed Shahid Lal is the cinematographer who has done an excellent job. My work was initially for 7 days but then it extended to 12 days. Language could have been a barrier but I managed it because my role is that of a Hindi-speaking cop. I am looking forward to shooting for the Tamil and Telugu versions now. In the Marathi film (Adrushya), Manjari Fadnis is the lead. For the Tamil film (Un Paarvail) there is Parvati Nair and Ganesh Venkatraman For the Telugu film (Agochara) we have Isha Chawla and Sunil. And for Bengali film (Antardrishti) Rituparna Sengupta is the lead.
