“Whenever I think of Lohri, my go to song is Lo aa gayi Lohri ve”, says Isha Koppikar Narang!
Every year, January brings a host of festivities with it as several communities across India celebrate various festivals. From #MakarSankranti and #Pongal to #Lohri, there’s no dearth of celebrations along with that of the new year. The year has now started with the first festival of the year and that is Lohri. The festival which is widely celebrated across North India marks the end of winter as farmers look forward to a new harvest season.
Bollywood has never missed an opportunity to look up to festivals to compose songs for films, from spilling Holi colours in ‘Rang Barse’ to welcoming everyone for Eid in ‘Aaj Ki Party.’ ,Given that Lohri is almosg here, here’s what the Indian festival of warmth, food, and dance reminds actress Isha Koppikar of.
“Whenever I think of Lohri or the festival arrives, my go to song is Lo aa gayi Lohri ve. No Bollywood song can portray Lohri better than this one featuring the village setting and beautiful colors. I love how films and songs have become an accomplice in celebrating the festivals. The aura and atmosphere is induced through these songs and without them I think the celebration would be incomplete.”
