Yashashri Masurkar speaks about her inspiration Meryl Streep!

Every actor has their own inspirations and idols – #YashashriMasurkar is no exception. If we explore her social media handles, we can see her engaging with fans every day through her meaningful posts. And a common thread amongst most of her posts is her liking for versatile #Hollywood actress #MerylStreep.

Speaking more about her inspiration, the Dabangii – Mulgii Aayi Re Aayi actress says, “Interestingly enough I was introduced to Meryl accidentally, I was a very shy person during my debut show Rang Badalti Odhani. I remember I used to rent films from bigflix and watch on set so that I don’t interact with many people. I had rented Julie and Julia and was enthralled by the experience of the whole film, especially the actor playing Julia Childs. I searched for the real Julia Childs and was shocked to see how Meryl had portrayed her perfectly. I instantly started searching for her films and from that day onwards she became my Idol.”

Talking about her favourite films of Meryl Streep, Yashashri says, “There are so many – Bridges Of Madison County, Mamma Mia, Kramer Vs Kramer, Julie and Julia, August Osage County. I can go on and on and maybe end up naming all her films (smiles). There are days when I feel happy, sad, mixed emotions, I watch her films and get motivated. One can learn so many aspects of acting just by watching her films very closely. I wish I could meet her one day and tell her how much she means to me and my craft.”

Yashashri also discusses why she is jealous of actor Aadarsh Gaurav, whom we have seen in films like The White Tiger, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. She says,”I am so jealous of Aadarsh Gaurav because he got to work with Meryl Streep in Extrapolations. He is a great actor and has been doing some great work on screen.”
