Dream
Girl
Y ou were a huge star on television. What
took you so long to start your Bollywood
journey?
Pavitra Rishta gave me everything, name,
fame, dignity, security and of course
audiences’ love. After it’s conclusion I
wanted to rejuvenate and take control of
my private life. Mind you I was shooting
day-in and day-out and hardly used to
get time to sleep. Then again, I am not a
type of person who would run after work. I
wanted to take life a bit easily. Manikarnika
happened organically. I did Jhalkaribai’s
character, which played important role in
Rani Laxmibai’s life, which gave me an
opportunity to explore big screen. It was a
great experience and I was kicked up to do
war scenes, romantic scenes. In my next
‘Baaghi 3’ I am away from any action and
happy about it.
What’s your criteria for film selection ?
I go with the character and it’s importance
in the film. In ‘Baaghi 3’ my character
has a specific graph which connects to
all the principal characters. I prefer doing
performance oriented roles.
